This is just another ploy from AVN to make more money for themselves, and those who spend big money with them. It would not surprise me if R-n and others are invovled and will profit handsomely.
One day people will wake up and realize AVN does not care about anyon but the fat cats - mostly those from the video side. It has been like this from day one. Too bad, eventually AVN will turn as much as the adult industry they can to the fat cats.
