Funny Stray Cats story - My first date with my Ex-husband was to see the Rolling Stones in 1981 (I think..) at the Fox. We were both working at a bar and the tickets went on sale at around 2AM. The joke was that hookers, pimps and bar employees were the ones who bought all the tickets since we the only ones up at that hour. Anyhoo - the Stray Cats opened and of course, since everyone wanted to see the Stones, they were booed throughout almost every song and it got progressively worse with each song they sang. We didn't think they'd ever make it in the biz.

The Cat Club is really small... so if they did it would have probably been a mostly private engagement.
Sometimes I read the club listings just to see the funny band names. I've also seen The Hun playing, kind of funny... |
