And thus the answer to part 2 of the question. Best conversions depends on where you get your traffic. Teen traffic typically doesn't convert well with interracial milfs.

It's hard to say. What may work for one person, may not for another.

My advice to anyone would be to know your niche you want to promote. You generally do better with something you either know, or at least like when it comes to selling it to others.

I know I cant get gay sites to work worth a shit for me, yet I know that is a very profitable niche.

I think at least some of that is being able to get inside the surfers head and see the site thru their eyes.

I dunno, maybe I should get a set of those rubber nuts they hang on the trailer hitches of pickup trucks and hang 'em across my nose so I can see gay sites from the gay users perspective.

HellPuppy's sarcastic comments aside he's essentially right even though he was being a smart ass. A more accurate description would be affiliates with both quality and quantity traffic who know how to convert it.


A for niche. There is no one "best" niche. The best niche is one you can convert well. Some people just can't convert soem niches cause they don't understand it.

Yeah, I entered smart ass mode because the question was vague and general, so I gave a vague and general answer....

The real question is what are the types of affiliates other than those with and those without traffic?

TGP masters?

Blog masters?

SEO masters?

Spam masters?

Free site masters?

Gallery masters?

Domain masters?

A lot of affiliates are all of the above and will try anything that generates traffic. Only a few seem to stay in only one or two categories. Domainers, SE types, large TGP owners, etc. The guys who find something that they are really good at tend to rinse and repeat within what they know well. I think most of your whales would fall into this category.

Everyone would love to land a whale, but whales also dont change sponsors very often either. They have long standing relationships and as long as the sponsor takes care of them and the money flows for both, they are not prone to experiment.

I will say that my desired type affiliate is basically one who is willing to do a little work and try things for himself. The ones who I'm not sure will continue to have a place in the industry within the next year or so are those who want the sponsors to do everything for them. They basically are creating an opportunity for the sponsor to eliminate them as the middle man. If you are paying staff to do 90% of the work, why not just bring the other 10% in house and eliminate the guy who wants to know if you'll even put the website up for him...
