Default No more sellin Weed

Damn! http://weedshare.com bit the dust! Being a recording artist myself, I thought it was a great drm format for music files. Yes, I know DRM is hated by the masses, even when not porn.

For those not familiar, weed music files would play 3 times for anyone, then prompt the listener to buy on the 4th attempt. The producer/band would get 50% of every file, Weed would get 15% and the remainder was split among listeners that spread the file. Basically, you could get your money back after 5 people you sent a song, purchased it. Our you could host the files at a site and "sell" them as free downloads, earning 20 cents intial purchase. Anyone think porn movie files could sell profitably this way?

yeah, I agree, it would be more of a clips thing...for amateurs it would work great

but the idea could be developed and expanded on to work for movie studios

but considering that there isn't one movie studio out there increasing budgets, i don't think anything is going to work for movie studios....dvd production is on a steep decline, and I would be surprised if we still saw porn on dvd in 10 years

any porn producer out there that is still shooting strictly for dvd is fighting a losing battle and he will be out of a job VERY soon....

I disagree.
Any studio out there that only uses retail shelf space will find it very hard to compete.

The mom and pops that are selling vids mail order are seeing an increase in sales.

I was referring to wide scale dvd distribution

when I think dvd sales I think Evil Angel, Vivid, etc

I don't even count the independents, mainly because they aren't usually counted in the overall industry count...they are done from home, etc

overall though, dvd sales will decline in the future, it is just the nature of things, same way online sales are declining
