It makes no sense that you would make more without an exit than you would with one unless it wasn't an exit but an enter pop and you pissed the surfer off before he looked at your tour and got to the join page. If you don't pop the exit until they are leaving, how can it affect your signups?

It's an impossiblity to make less with an exit if it's done correctly. If the sponsors you use on the exit suck you might not make any more, but certainly not less.

p.s. Let's all hope that someday Robin doesn't pull an Acacia and patent the exit pop.

I didn't understand it either, to be honest it could have been an off day for sales, I will admit that....but exit consoles are so intruding these days, and the way they work annoys me, so I have to imagine it would annoy others as well. If someone can find me an exit console that doesn't take over a background browser window or mess up a current windows browsing, I would be all for it....but to be honest, after all this, i would probably seek help elsewhere just for fear of being laughed at instead of helped

I'm not laughing at you, I'm just trying to help you understand.

The surfer might be annoyed but we're not in business to make surfers happy, we're in business to keep our members happy. Sure, they won't become members if we piss them off first, but the whole point of a properly done exit is to do it in such a way that you don't annoy them.

Look, say someone come to your wife's website and you have a properly installed exit script. The way it should work, the surfer will be able to navigate to all the pages in the tour and even click to go to the join page without ever triggering your popup. It's not until they leave your site completely that the exit pops, and at that point, why would you care about the ones that are annoyed, they didn't buy from you anyway and probably won't be back. The chances that a simple exit pop with no chain attached would piss them off enough that they never will come back if they might have planned on it is slim, but if they never were coming back, it does give you another shot at making something from them.
