I think television movies love of "badge respects badge" goes out the window here. *shaking my head* You'd think anybody with half a brain would rejoice to see a paramdedic coming.

I remember decades past where the people that lived in walled compounds with stockpiles of food, water, weapons, generators, etc., saying "you can't trust the government to help you - you have to help yourselves" were considered crazy paranoics. Now they get one big "I told ya so!"

Unfortunately, I've heard lots of stories like the one from that article on the local radio...

This one paramedic guy was talking on the radio and gave his supervisor's name over the radio and told everyone that he was told by that man that they weren't allowed to go into the water to save the people they saw in there...

He said for 3 days they moved him around from one end of the city to the other end.... And they saw people in the water that needed help, but, they were ordered not to go into the water. All they could do was sit there and watch...
