ive been interested in seeing The Door in the Floor. it is an excerpt from John Irvings novel "A widow for one year". i enjoyed the book. now ill rent the movie, thanks peaches

I'm doing it backwards - added the book to my Amazon list after watching the movie :P

One thing they pointed out is that the movie is just the first part (section?) of the book. But the DVD extras showed that John Irving was on the set which I like since then they tend to be truer to the concept, if not word by word.

Jeff Bridges really did own the movie. And it has Dakota Fanning's little sister - she's a carbon copy in both looks and is close in acting.
