watching the board for 2 years, I came to the conclusion that newb has NOTHING to grab like a straw here.

There is no appeal at Oprano for a newb,
drivel is kept to the minimum,
certain knowledge is required to even participate in conversation,
they have no chance,
so why even bother acknowleging them?

I concer, we should just send them elsewhere.

However, there is a difference between webmasters who are just Oprano newbs, they should get a chance. People who have brains, who have been in industry for awhile, and may be able to contribute as well as learn.
