I don't understand why you feel tricked.
You were told numerous times that the lady on the phone didn't know what the channel was, yet you asked them to install the dish anyway. If a mechanic said to you "we can put this big ugly thing on your car, we're not sure what it does - but hey, it's free!" would you let them?
