Snook did not stop me, the season closed for that beast, But I did acquire the balls to sail out of the intercoastalway, endure the breakwaters and leave the inlet into the open Atlantic. Threw the anchor, braved 20 knot winds and 2-4 foot swells Sunday and spanked the fish like no other day.
This is a redfish, it is state protected, limit is one a day, size has to be 18-27 inches, this bull red was 30.5 inches and it was released. We went on to catch our limit, had a pair of 26" reds, and headed back into the intercoastal as a storm approached. I went off course to my secret cove and boated another 24" redfish. What to do, throw it back and not risk having the game commission tow my boat and confiscate it, or take my chances with a storm coming and the wild life having no interest in shake downs? Welp, we took the fish and hid it under the boat seat which is a nice framed box, put our gear and crap on the seat, and would show our contents in the coolers.... No game wardens and 3 reds on the table to clean. Had lot of neighbors over for a fish fry, reds taste like chicken not like fish :-) Going back to the same spot this Sunday! I love fishing!!! My whole life is fishing, my time off is playing in my tackle shop some call a garage, I am constantly studying maps and conditions... I really want to go deep sea fishing but I don't think I could handle a marlin fight, I could handle a dolphin IM sure. My abdomen has been thru alot of surgeries and I am all adhesed...matter of fact I have to see the surgeons again this month, I am heading towards another emajor surgery I keep blowing off....so they exertion to catch the big marlins would take me under..... Anyhoo, I wanted to be good enough to go fishing with MikieAI and his ninja's, and I think I might be there now :-)

Yeah the weather has been crazy for you all lately. Thats OK we have all summer to share fish stories... The weekend before I found this little hole and we anchored and we caught red grouper all day [undersize], we were in about 18 foot with rocky bottom terrain. As you know amongst the groupers in the lairs and rocks is a specie called a "toadfish", ugly, heavy to bring up like an old shoe. Sure enough I had about a 10x4 inch toad, got it to the surface, reached over to grab my lead and.......... This 3 foot plus barracuda slithered out from under the boat and attacked this toadfish 2 foot from my hand. He did the death roll and hit it a second time, and yet a third and swam off. He was so close to me I could see all the markings... Now this is one fish that will kill for the shear sport of it. WHat a spectacular show to watch! I plan on getting better Sextoyking, this is why I have not attended many webmaster shows in the last year when my condition worsened. I am fine as long as I don't eat! Needless to say I am alot thinner since the last time I went to a show and alot more tanned too :-)) No more red hair, platinum streaked heavy on my own brown, got it pulled back in the hat :-) I don't look 47 do I ? LOL
