Funny that MikeAI, Billy, Grimm and myself had a similar conversation at dinner in the pre-Oprano days about who would be the best at promotion and get the most attention to a new project.

I have a lot of respect for J$tyle$ for his ability and the way he conducts himself.

Now today I think Forest could attract a lot of attention (just not sure it would all be positive :P - just fucking with ya Forest)

Colin could get a lot of attention
also as could CJ, but as much as I respect CJ her along with JR expressing their opinions MIGHT overwhelm their product promotion but I think they are both to intelligent to do that)

Now remember you asked for best (and I am thinking exposure), not who gets the best RESULTS time (after time) and this conversation was almost 3 years ago

and I know there are a few I am forgetting which I will regret later

Vick when it comes to running companies - NO ONE can compete with Ken and Sig. They are 2 people I turn to for advice on a regular basis....

But neither are the best when it comes to promotion... I know Sig cannot stand the spot light. He would rather be hidden in the back... ( I think Ken is the same way)

I like KB, but I think he has kind been worn out.... Lee is a good one, when she is motivated she can get attention. They are both funny, and unique people.

It depends on what the result is you are trying to achieve ...

Do you want the most branding exposure for the sake of it or actual measurable results such as sales?

Most of the promotions people in this biz think as long as people see a product and talk about it a lot it will succeed. That's about 10% of the process.

The most successful people in this role are those who have a solid understanding of the product they promote and the industry they promote it in. This person also follows through, provides customer service, and doesn't make simple tasks complicated. They understand the difference between lots of eyes looking at a product, and dollars in the bank. They don't just parrot information and slogans given to them by the 'director'. They have an ability to think on their feet in any situation - which comes from the knowledge of your product and audience.

And most importantly, a sales & marketing person shouldn't behave like they are a sales and marketing person ;-)
