Pete Townsend, the guitarist from The Who.... has used his credit card to enter a kp site according to the news today.

A database is said to exist which contains 75,000 members of one kp site, and the police in the UK have been given a list of 7000 credit cards and their owners by the FBI. h34r:

If I had any Who CDs, I would be using them as coasters right now.

I can understand entering a site by accident, but entering your cc detials???? Guilty. :angry:

this story has been kicking about for the past couple of days here in the UK. People have been comming out of the woodwork to support him. Many are saying that the fact that he was writing a book on pedophila - based on his own abuse as a child - was well known. He says that he had contacted the police and registered the fact that he was doing research. No one has come out to deny that.


I am inclined to belive him at the moment. The newspapers over here are so worked up about pedophiles at every given moment that they have him tried and convicted already. The same papers that encouraged people to take action into their own hands and then acted suprised when a pediatrician was attack at his home because the education of their readers is at such a level that they didn't know the difference between a pediatrician or a pedophile.

So, lets wait to see if any charges are even made. The man came out on his own rather than letting the papers guess and if he did register his research with police then perhaps his only real crime is being foolish enough to use a credit card with his real name.

Nothing like a little slanted journalism. It makes me ill to see how easy it is to twist the facts and destroy a person just to sell some papers. I'm no huge Who fan, but he'd have to be out of his freaking mind to join a site like that and not have a reasonable explanation for it.

Even if he's innocent, the fact remains that he did do something pretty stupid by joining a site like that.

Remember the story line of Tommy which Townsend wrote? The evil uncle? I think Pete has issues with this kind of stuff from his own childhood.

yup he has been arrested. However, we won't know full details for sometime as in the British media when someone is charged they can't report most details until it has gone to court.

I am just watching the news report right now. One of his charges is incitment to distribute..depending on what that actually means that is going to be the big one.

Sad stuff but still have to see how it washes out.

Then they played a song by Townsend, and in light of the news it was a little creepy. I couldn't make out all the lyrics but it kept saying something about Rough Boys and getting them under the sheets and inside them and things like that. Anyone know what song that would be?

1) the law in Great Britain seems to be pretty clear on issues of KP.

2) you cant go to the police and say "hey, i am going to break the law", so dont arrest me.
