Agreed. I pointed this out on Xpeeps, but I'll say it again here: Charles' explanation sounds nice and all, but several things don't add up. It's a typical problem in this business. First, was he trying to meet her to see if she was video-worthy, or was he trying to invite her to hang out with him at multiple parties, functions, etc? His story indicates both. He tries to play it off like this was a typical meet and greet/audition and she didn't pan out, but it's quite rare, in my opinion, to take a model half a state away, to a party, to a convention, and more... just to guage her. I can usually tell within 10min if I want to work with a particular model or not. It sounds to me like he was playing a dual role here, trying to impress her with who he knows and what he could do, while also trying to 'audition' her. Secondly, I bet she didn't know that her rides were contingent on her shooting for him. He's the one who said himself this was kindof an audition, so why would she have known that he expected her to do shoots already? He claims he knew she was broke and lived in "the ghetto", so maybe he thought she wouldn't be in a financial situation where she couldn't turn down any work he offered. Maybe he thought he had a sure thing on his hands and got all bent when she said she wasn't interested and wanted to go home.

He picked her up, he took her to a party, and more. Unless he told her what kind of situation she was getting into, and what the stipulations were, she had every right to expect a ride home.

Oh and also, he displays the BPAV logo on several of his sites.

The following is from the BPAV website:

BPAV's mission is to:
  • Encourage responsible, ethical and professional practices in adult video production
  • Denounce any type of performer mistreatment resulting from a non-consensual act
  • Promote responsibility on the part of performers for protecting themselves and one another from sexually transmitted diseases
  • Help protect the image of the industry
  • Spread awareness of its best practices through BPAV supporters
Below are the first 3 of BPAV's recommended Best Practices:
  • Disclosure of Acts
Producers must fully inform performers in advance of the nature of any shoot, specifying explicitly who they will be working with and the types of acts they will be performing.
  • Care in Types of Acts
BPAV encourages producers to avoid any situations that place performers in physical danger or lead to a performer feeling mistreated as a result of non-consent
  • Respect of Performers
Adult performers are the backbone of the adult entertainment industry. BPAV believes in the professional treatment of all performers on and off the set.

Sounds to me like, at the very least, he isn't practicing what he preaches.

Thanks once again for trying to be another monday morning quarterback. It takes patents to stick with something and you’ve proven yours. Too bad for the model in question if she had your diligence we would not be reading about this story to begin with. So I will attempt to correct your errors. You’re a shooter not a talent procurer I would only hope within the first 10 min you would feel if the talent was worthy of shooting. Most shooters that I get talent for are the same way. I was acting in that capacity for her of finding work for her nothing more nothing less. Didn’t feel the need to impress her and if that was the case I would only look for talent during the conventions dates that lived in and around those areas as well. She wanted to meet producers and I thought DAMN A VAST MAJORITY ARE HERE IN SOUTH FLORIDA RIGHT NOW. I didn’t take the model half a state away…she lives in Miami. So keep reading into it what you want. Now if you wish to contact me and be a adult about this instead of a keyboard warrior my phone number is in the initial post.

As far as your charges about BPAV...go ahead and file a compliant I would love to speak to rational person who doesn’t jump to conclusions.

Miami to Tampa is a good 250 to 300 miles so yes, it was a half a state away, easy. I drive down from Orlando every year and it's 225 miles from my house to the hotel. Miami is very near the southern tip of the state and Tampa is a little higher than the middle and on the opposite coast.

I'm trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and your argument is already a little weak, but arguing over semantics when a half a state is pretty damn accurate ain't helping you look honest.

I will also say this...after working as talent for a long fucking time, agents are 100% the bottom of the barrell, and unfortunately I have not met one yet that hasn't taken advantage of a girl or mis-treated a girl when he hasn't gotten his way, whatever way that may be

being an agent means you are the bottom of the fucking barrell, and they don't call it bottom of the barrell for nothing, that is where all the scum is

Dude, settle down, It's not like i pissed in your cheerios, i'm just pointing out how the model MIGHT have perceived the situation. Obviously her comfort and perception of the situation is not something you are concerned at all about.

And yes, I AM an agent, do your research. Just like you, I can play a dual-role too. I just do it ethically - models who work with me are presented upfront with scene descriptions covering all types of shoots we deal with, the contractual stipulations, and what kind of situations they will be expected to perform in. They also understand that the 'parent' company owns a talent agency as well as a production company and are informed of our 'farm team' methods of doing business.

Also, you said she wanted to meet producers, but why did you decide it was your job to introduce her to them if, as you said before, this was still her 'audition' stage? Your story isn't adding up.

As far as BPAV, I'm not trying to 'file a complaint' here, I'm just telling you that maybe you should understand what the BPAV's 'best practices' really mean before you claim that you support them, since you obviously do not adhere to them.

She HAD finished the "audition" process....and it was a success. That was the only reason why I took her to the events. I wouldn’t take someone who didn’t want to be there to and industry event so she could get free drinks (PJ Party) and mingle with the local celebes.

I was only trying to convey the message to you...for which I cannot do since you’re in you’re word as I am in mine. Once again opinions are like assholes and everyone got 'em it is not for you to decide what your definition of BPAV rules, regs or specs are it is theirs, unless you actually work for them then you would have a shot.

I dunno man, i think the descriptions of the 'best practices' are pretty clear. Especially when it comes to respecting and informing models.
