if any of you jack offs were still making the kind of money that was made back then, the last two things you would do are

1.) leave adult and all that free easy money for anything in mainstream!!!

2.) be here on some message board arguing with people you claim to be lessor beings than you .

You know, just a thought here but back in the day there were oh, say 5000 webmasters to compete with for sales. Today maybe there's 500,000. The sheer number of n00bs in today's game is a LARGE part of the reason why the "dinosaurs" are maybe a little jaded.

It's not rocket science to realize that the playing field is spread out 1000's of times wider today than it was in 1998 (when I started) or earlier.

I have mad respect for most of the guys who were in the game already when I got in. Most of the ones I knocked shoulders with were honest, and although we all valued our surfers we were all also patently aware of the aweful truth.... that surfers give about as much of a shit about you the webmaster as you do about them, period. Consider the fact that many of those "dinosaurs" are still around, their businesses still thriving. It's called being adaptable, it's called not only being innovative but in thinking in the long-term.

Some of you guys are getting quite cocky at the oldies, but the fact is they made it, you haven't yet.

No need for all the lameass attitude from either side. It's counterproductive and a huge waste of time, but the other fact to consider here is: Which side can honestly afford and justify that waste of time? My vote goes to the oldies.

First time one of my sites got listed on PK's she sent me 20k hits the first day.

I damn near crapped my shorts.

And I'll also never forget how great it felt when those emails from Tommy's would arrive. That guy helped me more than he'll ever know too.

I had over 80% of my network on adult freehosts back then.

Laughing here, but damn I had almost zero overhead and was pulling in over 4-5 times what I used to make during the 15 years I worked as a health care worker at a local hospital.
