A British scientific study shows that a bit of classical music can persuade diners to buy more fancy coffees, pricey wines and luxurious desserts. Researchers at Britain's universities of Leicester and Surrey persuaded a restaurant to alternate silence, pop music and classical on successive nights over 18 days, Sunday's Observer newspaper reported. I know it works on me at Barnes & Noble! lol My spending there is getting out of control! They hype me up on Starbucks when I walk in the door and then pump that evil classical devil music in throughout the store... next thing I know I have an armful of books to buy and I can't wait to get home and start reading!!!
I think they should be STOPPED! <_< |
