"Although the NHL plays in the winter, when overall TV viewing is high, its national TV ratings hover near zero. ESPN cut back on some early-season games, got more local TV blackouts and began carrying simultaneous games aired regionally — all factors that should help ratings. And ratings are up 7%, to 0.59% of U.S. cable households." http://www.post-gazette.com/sports/columni...31neogenep2.asp "In any event, it has further come to my attention that the NHL at its All-Star break is the partially willful recipient of all kinds of advice on what it needs to bring TV ratings up and player salaries down, thereby assuring its very existence beyond the Bush administration, and to move out of 18th place on the list of Americans' favorite sports behind, what, celebrity cat chasing." hahahahahahahah now dont get me wrong I am a DIE HARD Rangers Fan and have Drank? Drunk? Champagne out the Stanley Cup ( a friend was manageing a Bar in NYC when they won they cup. Each team memer gets the cup for a day. couple of the guys brought it in. The NHL said when they got the cup back from the rangers It was in the WORST condition then in any other year GOOO NY'ers!!! )but the US has more interest overall in the WNBA then in the NHL sad |
