Slag is the bi-product left after minerals are extracted from raw ore.
In my hometown most of the driveways and roads are made with base of "slag" and from my living room window everynite at 11:30 i can see the sky turn fire orange as they dump 25 to 35 tons of molten slag out of the pots, all fresh from the smelter.
This is later broken up and used as fill or for building roads, driveways and other jobs where gravel or rock is needed.

I liked the movie and the series. Didn't think it was a great movie but entertaining, same for the series.

Hahahaha you need to get out more; i could call you a slag and it wouldnt be of a homosexual connotation. I call my mates slags as they are diamond geezers and those who are retarded bigots as it has two meanings with different tones, but hey that's just me.
aside from "slagging" as in going slow, i've only heard it as
"slag off" in a tv show used as to fuck off or go away.
never heard it to describe a slut, but it has a nice ring to it. rap music should pick up on this, so many new words it can be rhymed with that ho and skank cannot!.
