With all its crazy laws, high prices and taxes, blackouts, earthquakes, and current financial woes, I always question why ANYONE wants to live in CA.

I am going to West Cpast fof Florida! Not only a taxs issues but I am a Southern Boy.. I like the South. I could not live in California.

We've been looking into moving OUT of California... hub is a native, lived here his whole life except the couple years he was in the Army. My kids were born here... our whole family has moved here now... but I would LOVE to live anywhere but here.
Hub works for the State of California but even if he stays with the state we could move to the borders... Nevada or Arizona. It's definitely a consideration... our house has more than doubled in value since we bought it 3 years ago - we could sell and buy a HUGE home outside of Vegas - now that would be sweet!

I've always kinda figured california is the place I want to end up, even if it does cost more to live there. just curious, always like to know why people decide that's the place to be

I gotta stick up for Cali here. Northern Cali and LA are totally different. I try to stay away from Southern Cali as much as possible!!
- California is one of the most beautiful states in the union. - California has the Napa Valley. - I agree the taxes are ridiculous. The taxes are driving the earners out of the state. Businesses and wealthy individuals are moving away. That's a recipe for disaster. We have "The Rock"  And the Golden Gate!

Financial Woes - Years of mismanagement caught up to the golden state. I don't see how this would effect someone in our business. If you're poor and rely on the state, I'd definitely be concerned... or If you're a state contractor... What does it mean to the average middleclass person? The weather in California is probably the best in the country. No Humidity, No Snow Storms, No Hurricanes, etc etc..
