Apple's strength is also it's weakness.

At least until Steve Jobs kicks off, safe bet Apple continues to tightly control EVERYTHING about their products and even the app store add-ons. You play by their rules or you do not play at all. That control has led Apple's products to be tightly integrated, nice UI and ergonomically outstanding in most regards.

It also lets them keep high margins which in turn let's them offer a level of service that most consumer brand's cant touch. Add all of this together and you see where the fanatical following that is their success comes from.

But we're living in a world that is increasingly about open source and open collaboration. In that regard it is their weakness. Someone at some point should put a "porn store" out there for Android. Hmmm....
