lol. That would only be true if the word was used as you did and not as a proper name, otherwise, God would be capitalized.

Since it's just mythology, it isn't a proper name and I use it as I would "cat" or "dog", without the capitalization

So you don't capitalize Zeus, Apollo, Isis, etc. either? Even fictitious names are proper names. I'm pretty sure there's no Jabba the Hut but it's name is still capitalized. Cat and Dog would be capitalized too if that's what their owners had named them.
