I can't wait for this show, especially now that I know Gonzo is attending - I LOVE BBQ.

I didn't like signing up our attendees one at a time either, but I suffered through it to support Jay I had the confirmations sent to each of us though I probably should have had them all sent to me. Got the rooms reserved too as I think this show will sell out - and if the Players' Ball is a rock show this time that might be fun

OK, I have to ask. Why BBQ? That wouldn't be my first choice of things to eat while in San Francisco. I can get great BBQ here, within 10 minutes of the house in almost any direction.

Just don't tell me your first choice would be clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl.

Well, I can get that anytime I want around here. So I thought that some American food with BBQ experts would be nice since this will be in America. No big deal. Seafood....I can walk down the street to the dock and buy it any time its in season.

Oh good lord no, don't fuck up a good sourdough. Just give me a nice thick slice, still warm enough to slightly melt the butter.

I'm not sure what my first choice would be, but a well prepared salmon dinner is on my short list. This Oregon boy hasn't had any Pacific salmon since moving to Texas 5 years ago.

Ya cook it on a cedar plank on the bbq. It doesn't get any better.

Now you're talking my language... I also grew up on the Pacific Coast, although in central CA, and then later moved to TX, where I am now. I come from a family of salmon fishermen, so I always had fresh Pacific salmon growing up. There's nothing better.

Except the steak at the "City Hall" restaurant in Phoenix. lol

Don't expect good salmon though... I believe they are not allowing fishing off the pacific coast at the moment for salmon due to a serious shortage of fish. And the farmed stuff just isn't the same.
