This is what happens when drama is posted, especially about someone that never posts here.
Too bad the extra traffic has nothing to do with extra revenue...

I doubt very many businesses want to pay for advertising on a site that encourages posting of your private information.

Soon it will go back to keyboard warriors and newbie's that know everything.

I agree with D. We are really careful with our advertising and would not want to buy banners on sites like this (sorry Gonzo). Its one thing to have lots of eyeballs on your banner for brand recognition, but its hard or even impossible to quantify that. Must better to have targeted advertising than anything else I think.

As for advertising, we purchase full page ads each month in Klixxx Magazine in 2005 and 2006. We stopped a few months into 2007, and have resumed 2008.

You can also watch for our full page ads in XBiz which should be starting in the very next issue.

And no, we don't advertise on GFY. We tried it in 2006 and it didn't work for us, so when I said that we don't really want to buy ads on a site "like this", I meant forums that seem to contain more "drama" than industry or technical information. As you have said in the past Gonzo this kind of thing works for you and more power to you. For us though, it just wouldn't work.

I will defer to your judgment on that for your particular product. But continuing this thread kind of puts you on this board, front and centre. For free. And Oprano gets indexed very quickly. You will notice I don't advertise here, but that is only because I don't play in mainstream like you guys. I worked on Bay Street....Mark will understand...for many years and the eyeballs and impressions and all of that are important. However, I do things a little differently, so it is not important. However, community is. Take that however you like. It is hard or even impossible to quantify that. And I do know you do a good business.
