I wondered where the traffic leak was with thumblogger and I see they are sending your traffic to AFF.
Unreal.

I've done enough research to know that AFF is shady as fuck and its certainly something I'm not pleased with. Though I just needed something quick I could throw some samples up at. Can anyone give me some feedback?

Spell check! I'm not usually a stickler on the topic, but since this is a writing for hire scenario it's pertinent here. I noticed two typos with just a quick scan on your samples.

I second Toby - I've found a few mis-spelt words:
-- Sample of my Work - Harcore, -- in the teen sample: "then slips of those sexy little girl panties..." -- and in your initial pitch, you've got "Unforuntately." Which is... Unfortunate.

Thanks Toby...I didn't want to be the nit-picker that always says that. And after reading it, I'm wondering about being a lawyer? ![]() But the industry needs a few more reasonably priced attornies......

Trust me, I know I'm an editing nazi. The blog thing didn't have a spell check, and I wanted to get it up, see if I could get a quick job so I can get the ball rolling on my personal blogs. When I do work for people I'm going to do it in word and spell check. When you have to draft 25 page legal motions and briefs and they take one point per error it gets you into being nit picky. I appreciate all the feedback.
In response to my one post, that was my big question, what should I charge and what lots can I do it in. I edit and reread them and try to keep them cogent and having a 'central topic' and I can bang out 3-4 an hour. So what would be a good going rate, supposing of course they are all edit free. Also what size batches should I offer my services in? One last note, obviously the first person who takes a chance with me I'm going to give a good break on price until I can get some references and a reputation for being legit. So obviously at first I'll work real cheap, but once that happens what should I charge. Thanks. |

I remember hanging with Jackie Susann back in the mid sixties when she was working on Valley of The Dolls. She pulled in some serious coin for that shit, especially when they made the movie.
BTW, I was up for the roll of Tony Polar but they gave it to some dude named Tony Scotti. "Who the fuck is Tony Scotti" you ask? . . . Exactly! mt goddamn point! Everybody know Buckwheat! And I could sing better than that Cracka too!

That's a business lesson I learned from my old man. If you look to be the cheapest, you're going to have more work than you can do and spend all of your time dealing with cheap asses who want as much as they can get for as little as they can possibly pay. Price yourself based on quality, and do quality work, and you get the people who dont care about money they just want the job done correctly. You work less, and your clients aren't near as much of a pain in the ass. |

I just finished writing ten posts for Pam's blog and if she's pleased and gets back to me I will finish the rest of the blog.
I'm not going to continue to offer my services this cheap. I realize that just showing up on this forum though I need to establish myself as trustworthy and legit. In response to the one post I am pretty spontaneous and quick, thats how I can make it work. Anyone else looking for some work done tonight? |

Very nice guy. Quality work but he moved from a rural setting to Vegas and ran this cheap deal on making galleriews several years ago. THe poor guy had money prepaid falling from the sky and a newly found Las VEgas that called to him. He ended up disappearing with a lot of peopls money. Im not sure what exactly happened but he was a very nice guy and he fell into this trap. Thats why I told you earlier. Its a very tough call on pricing. As for both the ladies interested in your services I can vouch for both personally. Pam has been around for years and is honest and fair. Shellee has several people working for her now on different projects and one of my newest friends. Working for either of them should prove to be fruitful. Welcome to Oprano.

Prices have come way down and people are taking advantage of it. I've seen people who claim to make lots of money a year from their websites begin to whore themselves out for $2 a post. When I ran a text writing/proofreading service I was fair but not cheap. I think I'd burn out of it after a while. I know what it's like writing for my own stuff and there are just so many ways you can describe a hairy bush! Still, at $2 a post, if it takes you 2 minutes to bang it out .... $60 an hour ain't too shabby for someone just starting out.

I have a small boutique firm that specializes in adult, and yes you can write legal articles with a JD. Most of the law review articles you see cited in cases are written by law students. Many of the opinions themselves are written by law students. Law clerks do most of the grunt work of the Judges. I understand the pricing structure would be different. Honestly, if you want to take the bar and pass, legal writing is the best practice you will have to do so. Let me know. Michael http://www.adultbizlaw.com |

Cool sounds good. It's just that I'm sure as you know good legal writing, even if for forter articles takes a decent amount of time just orienting oneself with the material, case law, and statutes, and that would need to be figured into the rate. Hit me up in ICQ at 412-842-608 and we'll see if we can work something out. I currently live 30 seconds from one of the better law libraries in Florida so research materials will not be an issue.
I understand about all that stuff with law review articles and stuff, but that is all done under academic supervision. I have my character and fitness coming up and you know rigorous that is and I wouldn't want to do anything at all that had the possibility of being interpretted as practicing without a liscense. So long as I am under your direct supervision I don't have a problem at all. My background is transactional with a good amount of code and statutory law so I'm sure I can do it. I just know that even for 500 word article unless its interpretting a decision or a statute, such as synthesising several cases or comparing differences in Fed Circuit Courts I am looking at atleast 2 hours of research before I put the proverbial pen to paper. But lets see if we can't work something out. It's certainly a subject that I find engaging so I know the work wouldn't be as miserable as some kinds of legal research can be. I look forward to seeing if we can put something together. |

No problem Jace. Hit me up when you get situated. In poking around you seem like someone I would like to work with.
I'd like to say a big thanks to Pam for giving me a chance. After I finished the initial bit of work from her she gave me a bunch. Big ups, and if you ever need anything on a quick turn around I'll remember you got me started and get you turned around real quick. I'm going to be busy with Pam until probably Sunday morning, but after that I'll have room for a a few jobs. Finally a big ups to the community here. I lurked for 6 months, soaked up as much info as I could. I noticed a demand for something and offered a service with some of ya'lls guidence. Today I got my first pay for my work. I'm sure you guys can remember how it felt the first time you got paid in this industry (and unless you were talent who just finished getting assfucked\fisted) it felt pretty good. So thanks ya'll. Now I've got a bunch of work to do. |
