Interesting? It was the Chinese curse. Him and his buddy got our business along with a few others I am sure. Then one day, they just kind of out of the blue folded it. The Titanic was a perfectly fine ship that was sunk by an extremely freak accident. No one could have predicted that the ship would ever hit a submerged iceberg that would breach several airtight chambers and make a ship that otherwise would have been nearly unsinkable, sink.

That doesn't change the fact that DRM is a very useful way to use P2P sites or to keep members from downloading all of a site's videos and watching them beyond the membership expiration. Just because a company may have pulled some shit on the people that used it doesn't make it any less interesting. I also said I thought it was an interesting idea several years ago at the time that he talked about it on my show, when it was a relatively new idea.

DRM is very interesting and useful. That was exactly why I bought into it. That was never my point. Tucker was the problem. He handled the company and the customers about as well as White Star treated its passengers. He cut them loose to drown with inadequate safety nets.
Edit: you see, what I find interesting, is no one calls Tucker out to talk about said disaster. Why on earth would you defend anyone who conducts business like this?

Where in the world have you seen me defend Jason? I said I've known him for years and consider him a friend. He's not a close personal friend and maybe instead of saying 'friend' I should have said he's someone I'm 'friendly' with, because other than having friendly conversations with him at conventions, I don't really know him. If I had actual business dealings with him and had used his DRM service and been fucked over I would certainly feel differently, but at this point I don't have any first-hand business experiences with him and I'm not going to condemn someone based on what I've read about them on the boards. I don't think I'm in a position to either defend or condemn him.
