One of these days Gonzo's going to learn to spell "Emerils".
XM seems to be the best programming for me. I won't add it to my present car, but I'm buying a new car at the end of the summer and it will have SOME sort of sat. radio and THANK GOODNESS, a Nav system

My guess is ultimately the two merge and the point becomes moot.
Sirius has the better programming for my tastes and they're also buying up tons of talent including Howard Stern. The channel line up is very very similar in terms of variety. But the one key difference in the approach I think is that XM is kind of like listening to your IPOD, nothing but songs. Sirius doesn't have commercials but they do have voice overs for just a few seconds between songs periodically. To me it has more of a "radio" flavor. On The 80's Channel for instance, Sirius has all of the surviving original MTV V-jays from the 80's. They bump in with little tidbits about the band, what was going on in the 80's where are they now and that type of thing. I like the occasional break between songs, some people do not. With either one you'll wonder how you ever dealt with terrestrial radio. |

If you buy a GM product, it's going to be XM. Buy a Dailmer-Chrylser product and you get Sirius. Not sure what some of the others are doing. I do know that Infiniti gives you your choice of either, I think that's a smart move. I do think XM probably has better portable units at lest for now. |
