A few days later, I have a balance of -$1.03, so somehow, $1.30 disappeared from my account without any further transactions taking place. When you first withdrew the money your Aussie bank put a pending charge on your account, then when they put in the charge (usually the next day) the amount has changed a little bit due to the exchange rate changing thats why you see a negative balance.

It happens all the time to me until it says cleared, instead of pending next to a transaction not in US$ it can change a little bit.
