I read somewhere recently (probably in relation to this story, which was reported here too) that the rise in peanut allergies may be related to an increase in the use of baby lotions, oils, etc, based on peanut oil. Apparently the early exposure can trigger an allergic reaction.

There's a story I'm going to tell my daughter when she is NINE - The Ultimate Scare Tactic for Birth Control... She'll be scared to go to first base. I'll tell her SHE is allergic to ... bubble gum ... and she never knows who just chewed a piece!
