Happy, happy birthday, most delectable crumpet!

May the New Year bring you joy, health, wealth and lots of intricate sexual gratification!

(Samhain is the Wiccan Ros Hasshonah, apologies to Red for the butchered spelling.)

Now the peanut gallery has *two* things to look up!

I thought Samhain was the Celtic Halloween. Hmmm?

October 31st, Samhain, pronounced "Sow-in" is the "New Years" of varous pagan religions, Wicca included. It is the first day of the "Wheel of the Year." "Samhain" is a Celtic word, explaining why spelling and pronounciation are nowhere near each other. It's a day of celebration, honoring the "Beloved Dead" and things like that.

"Halloween" is actually a Christian invention, something modern day Christians tend to forget. Look it up, for heaven's sake, Dravyk. The history is fascinating.
