Global warming is undoubtedly one of the factors causing the weather we've had lately, regardless of what jezuz is telling Bush.

That being said, I think that there are also natural factors at play. Global warming didn't cause the dust bowl, for example, which was only 80 years ago, and casued far more devastation than what we've seen in the last couple of years.

Every once in a while Gaia ups and says "you've been bad children and not paying attention. Can you hear me now?"

We are due ....

- another ice age

We are waaaaay overdue ...

- a change in the magnetic poles, which has begun, that will send the protective belt that filters cosmic rays getting through, to go out of whack

- a supervolcanic eruption, that will probably happen in Yellowstone Park

- a species killing massive meteor and/or comet strike

The moon is continuing to move away from us which will at some point destablize Earth's wobble.

The fuel that is at the core of our planet is starting to go out. It helps propel our magenetic and gravitational fields.

... We're so going to be fucked.

... Of course our sun will grow to 10,000 times it's size and go out past the orbit of Mars and melt the Earth long before the universal expansion ends.
