Out of the many possible thoughts this has caused, I've chosen one:

Damn, I hate incompetence. Why did he think this sort of activity could be performed without injury?

I'll lay odds that the idiot delayed seeking medical treatment out of a desire not to state how the injuries happened.

I used to torture one of my favorite teachers in high school by sticking my head in the door when he had a classroom full of sophomores and saying "why don't you tell the class how Catherine the Great died?" then running like hell.

Catherine the Great was a horse lover, too.

She also had lovely young maidens stand in her garden during the winter until they froze to death, making lovely frozen statuary.

The previous bit of disrespect and historical trivia was brought to you by a woman who may have had too much coffee today.
