I live in West-Central Illinois (near the border of Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri). It's not completely unusual to have the heat kick on during the night after the AC has run during the day.
First night for our heat was Wednesday night.

I just turned on the air conditioner. It should be in the 90's today.
Southern California doesn't believe in seasons. Winter is rain. That's really the only way you can tell the difference. We only have heat in the concrete under the living room floor. There's no heat anywhere else in the house. We can go years without ever turning the thing on. |

I'm in southwestern Indiana, and it's very common at this time of year for me to have daytime AC and nighttime heat. Not to mention it is so freakin' humid that there are few times you can just have the windows open to enjoy.
