BTW I am prescribed Xanax... by a LEGITIMATE Psychiatrist for my nerves.. I have cut down ALOT - Used to be 4-6 mg a day ... now I am .5 mg X 5.day and lowering it slowly hopefully to be nearly off it in a year or two.. I was told I could literally die going cold turkey....

For people who don't need it I don't see how the 'high' or whatever would do anything for ya.. When I started taking it and had no tolerance (was on .25 mg tabs) I got some 1 mg tabs from a friend.. I took up to 3 of the .25's at a time and popped all three of the 1 mg's ... WOW ... my ass was dizzy and passed out right away..

So all I saw it did when I guess I abused it (even though it was accidental) was that I got really really tired plus a high that wasn't all that great.. just relaxing.. Now if you are taking it because u need to chill out and need it for your nerves I could see why you would want it, but a good legitimate family doctor should be able to prescribe some sort of benzo to help out .. such as time released clonazepam

I used to take Xanax, and could never figure out why it had any street value. (And yes, Ryan, you can fuck yourself up *seriously* going cold turkey, you *never* do that...you come off that stuff very, very slowly...the slower the better.)

I'm on Klonopin (clonazepam) now and it works fine for me. I have a seizure disorder that's triggered by anxiety attacks (that's a fun combo) and the Klonopin really helps.

No, I'm more of a "little yellow tablet" patient. I take a fistfull of meds four times a day and won't take anything that changes the way I take meds. My med box has four slots - the three times a day meds and the twice a day meds go into it nicely. 6AM, 8AM, 2PM and 8PM. (Three times a day are the 6-2-8, and twice a day are the 8 and 8.) I once had a doctor try and prescribe something I'd have to take four times a day and I said "absolutely NOT. I'm not set up for that!!" He handled it well.

Oh, i hear ya...my wife is the same way, or was, until she had all her surgeries to alleviate her troubles

she now doesn't have any daily medications, which makes her extremely happy, but it took almost 3 years of constant surgeries and procedures to get here though

yeah, us too...lots of surgeries...4 in 3 years, the latest being her heart surgery she had about 2 months ago

she has one more to go to remove an ovary, but that isn't something we are going to rush, she will do that when she is ready
