If you want a quiet drink without college kids and drunk fools go to Lafitte's Blacksmith Shop on the far end of Bourbon (toward Esplanade)
It might be the oldest bar in the US and is never closed unless there is a hurricane There will be a piano player working there most nights and he'll play about anything you ask if you leave a tip in his jar (I've had him play Sinatra and "As time goes by" on more than one occassion)
