This sounds like fun.
Don't know much about taking signatures from audio data, but there's lots of opportunity for filters to be applied (amongst other things) to audio data which will change the waveform without affecting the end sound too much. Think it would be extremely difficult to block messages based on content if the right techniques were used by the senders.
