According to freedom house there are 9 muslim democracies (and afghanistan is/was'nt one of them)
Freedom in Muslim Majority Countries Freedom Status Partly Free 17 Countries (36%) Free 2 Countries (4%) Not Free 28 Countries (60%) Electoral Democracies Electoral Democracies 9 Countries (19%) Non-Electoral Democracies 38 Countries (81%) Going through charts and shit, I figured out 8 of them, remember, democracy and freedom are not necessarilly bedfellows, of the 8 muslim democracies, there were various levels of freedom ratings (1=most free, 7=least free anyything over 5.5 is considered not free, anything 3.0-5.5 is considered partly free, anything 1-2.9 is considered free..if I read it all right) Mali 2.5 Senegal 2.5 Indonesia 3.5 Turkey 3.5 Bangladesh 4.0 Malawi 4.0 Niger 4.0 Nigeria 4.5
