all you have to know is: what was good year for the region. after that, go to the store, buy a bottle, taste it, and find what YOU like. All reviews don't mean shit if you don't like the wine for any reason. we running out of 2001 Coppola Merlot for every day wine and started search for replacement... 2002 Tuscan, $9, no good 2001 Tuscun $15, not good, Ironstone Winery, CA, Merlot 2001, $11 - decent replacement, gotta buy a few cases to keep handy. that's how you do it
