I remember that first overlay on GFY for playboy cash. Three problems with that thing - it was so fucking LARGE, there was NO way to close it the first day, and it didn't go away.
After all the screaming they finally put a little x to close it and made it fade off after a (too long) time. The Goodthinxxx ad is done well in size and time. It appears, it gets the message across, it goes away. Sykk I've got a shorter skyscraper on one of my portals that does okay. It's nothing compared to the size of the ones over at CNN - those things are freaking huge.
