Try converting US$ into UK£ and then you'll see a world of hurt.. but it's something I've had to get used to, I keep my dollars for when it's strong against the pound and then change it...
at $35 per sign-up it means the difference between: $35 converting into £17 and $35 converting into £26 One question I do have is why you say “signups = bad”? I’m a firm believer that sign-ups = very very good
