Bresnan pulls plug on adult programming

By MATTHEW VAN DUSEN Star-Tribune staff writer Monday, November 03, 2003

Bresnan Communications has yanked Wyoming's substantial cable television porn offerings.

According to a note accompanying this month's Casper area cable bill, adult programming -- The Hot Network, Hot Choice, Spice, Spice2 and Playboy -- will no longer be available on digital cable as of Nov. 11.

Similar notices have been mailed to Bresnan subscribers throughout the state, and by the end of the year, adult pay-per-view programming will no longer be available.

In exchange for the steamy channels, Casperites will get Eternal Word Television Network, featuring programming from the Catholic Church; BYU TV, with programming from the Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints; and the Home Shopping Network.

I've been looking at property out there, but most of the places I'm interested in are too far out in the woods to get cable. Whew!

The stuff they play on pay per view probably isn't sick and twisted enough for those religious freaks anyhow. Especially if they've discovered gay porn online.

I dated a guy who owned a computer store and was the only repair place in town. He said it was the religious people who always had the most porn on their hard drives and on their "favorites" list.

He also said there were many times he felt scarred for life when he'd see porn pictures of the people themselves. :P
