For what it's worth I was driving yesterday and listening to the show and Rush says he was prescribed pain killers for a failed back surgery and 3 herniated disks in his neck. He decided not to have further surgery and became addicted to pain killers.

I feel sorry for anyone that gets addicted to drugs. I have a highly addictive personality so I know what it's like. Thankfully I've never been addicted to drugs but I made a conscious decision never to take them because I know if I like something I can get addicted to it. Fortunately my addiction is golf which is fairly harmless.
