How can member sites differentiate themselves ?

Does anybody have any concrete evidence that exclusive content retains better than non exclusive content?

Does anybody have any concrete evidence that reality content retains better than general content?

Does anybody have any concrete evidence that high quality content retains better than so so content?

IMHO the 3 above only make marginal differences to retentions, lower single digit percentiles. Not many people of sane mind will pay $50 per month for a porn site membership. It is an overpriced poor value deal. Profits come from people who either forget or are too slack to cancel their membership.

I have never owned a reality site so I may be dead wrong but (assuming content has anything to do with retention) I suspect a general hardcore mega site would retain better than a reality site because it offers better value. Once the novelty of the reality site's theme wears off you're left with about 20 crappy videos, I'm sure someone could jerk off to your videos a lot quicker than you can shoot them.
