Specifics? Afghanistan. Efforts on our behalf/at our behest by Pakistan, Indonesia, and a lot of other places. None of which has anything to do with Iraq, which has probably diverted resources that would have been better expended fighting the alQaidas of the world.

I have no doubt that some of the domestic efforts undertaken have also thwarted terrorism. I am admittedly skeptical about anything the Administration has attempted to claim credit for, because the press conference ballyhoos has generally turned out to be smoke and mirrors. I can only hope that a lot has gone on in the shadows, where it belongs.

I do not believe - and I'm pretty sure you know this already - that the war in Iraq has done anything to make America safer. In fact, I think the long term effects will be the opposite.

I think a whole lot of other folks agree with me, and they ain't all Cindy Sheehans. Awful lot of retired star-studded shoulders speaking out lately - and that should speak a lot louder than a million Sheehans, Moores, Striesands, et al.
