(i think there is an exception with pork). there is no official legal definition of "organic". only foods that say "USDA Organic" are foods that met the governments criteria, went through an inspection process and are certified as being organic. however, go into any store and you will notice "organic" everywhere... and you will rarely see "USDA Organic".... just just see piles of apples with little stickers that say "organic".
