Timon, attacks on the US embassy will no impede the flow of oil, and does not have a very direct effect on the value of the US dollar.
Now, if they blow up a major oil offloading point, or the oil workers in Saud go on strike, well, now you have potential issues that restrict availability of oil, and will (at least speculatively) drive the price of oil futures up.
