As for driving in general, the Germans have it right in my opinion. It's not easy to get a license. It requires training and around $1800-2000. Your car also has to be maintained and inspected, no hunk of junks on the road.
The autobahn of course has unlimited speeds in rural sections and the speeds in the other areas near the cities are dynamic...the speed limit signs are digital and max speed is dictated by conditions. You can bust ass at over 100 thru town in the middle of the night, but it might be 60 during business hours or in the rain.
Drivers are also taught to "drive right". You dont get the bullshit with cutting people off or mom and kids cruising in the fast lane at 55 mph in the mini-van while grandpa in the buick is right beside her doing the same speed....and both oblvious to the furious quarter mile of traffic behind them. You can be ticketed for not moving to the right to let a faster driver pass. What we would term road rage or aggressive driving can actually cause you to lose your license.
I'd love to see something similar here.
Driving is NOT a right.

Damn right HP.
Its just as hard in Britain to get a liscence.
When I took mine in Florida , I mean , come on , my 10 yr old boy could pass. All you do is drive round a car park!! LOL
Even The woman examiner said "Really simple for you europeans isn't it"
Best thing driving on the autobahn is travelling at 150mph and have your indicator light on , and then flash your headlights at the car in the fast lane 2-3kms ahead and watch the driver pull over immediately to let you pass.
Friendly wave as you go by
