A lot of seemingly misguided opinions in here.
Personally, I buy Canadian/American whenever I can for most things. Outsourcing of manufactured goods is only smart in the short term. Once your population (and then economy) starts to depend on it, then trouble comes. The Italians buy Italian, the Germans buy German, the Brits British. It's one of the ways they stay unique unto themselves but united in the European Community.
