Personally I think the big huge night out on the town or jewelry is outdated. If you're going to do something like this make it mean more by cooking dinner yourself. Have candles around the tub.. make it a romantic night.

I think most ladies would prefer something that men have actually given some thought to and that's original and keep in mind doesn't have to be costly. Most times it's the little things that mean more.

personalized romance novel is excellent.

If you're sending roses send embossed roses with a message like I Love You.

Name a star after her..

I think some of the ideas HERE are too sweet.
