Niches work, the only problem I see with micro-niches is the cost of shooting exclusive content, compaired to the number of members a micro-niche can/will support.

Sure the members might stay longer, 2-3-4 months - but if you cannot get enough total, then it could still be a losing prospect....

IT is important people know the niches, and also know how to FIND the surfers who are interested in those niches... the old days it was pretty easy... but the SEs, link lists have been so slammed with garbage it is hard for people to find true, dedicated niche sites...
Do you know for the first 3 years of my site I never bought content? Even now my content overhead is lower then most.

It's who you know. I network and stay in contact with a lot of pro's looking for promotion, exposure and to make a little extra money. The content is real, authentic and cheap.

I'm building a leased plugin and obviously I need exclusive open lic. agreements. I have a guy who shoots really great femdom/fetish/gay/ etc amateur style video. I pay 400.00 per miniDV. Ok, maybe not exclusive. He makes DVD's and rents them.

I have a few ladies, prodoms who use content for their personal sites. They have a handful of traffic. I pay them simply to offset cost. Some will trade just to have us encode or prepare their pics.

It's more time consuming then grabbing 1000's of pictures or video from a content producer, but it's cheaper then shooting yourself. I wouldn't buy content that was all over the place. Sometimes I might, but we use it for stories and articles.
