As we watch the dwindling of the "easy money," TGP throw up a join page and reap the cash, there are other indicators:
Here are two, in as many days: NOOF, (New Frontier Media) a leader in soft core "cable porn," owners of ten.com, have had another setback. Not only have they consistently lost money on their Internet segment over the past several quarters, they recently lost their contract for one of the 3 networks on Direct TV for "cable porn." (I mentioned this in another thread.) Then, today, I read about this: "Peach Entertainment Network Files Chapter 7" on XBIZ: http://www.xbiz.com/news/113819 Peach Entertainment is another soft core provider. I think the message is clear: when you can get free, on tap hardcore porn , why would you pay for soft core? As far as "convenience on the TV channel" goes, it's just not enough. Especially when they charge ridiculous amounts of $$$ with pay per view.
