Were this my board and were I facing the problems you describe, I would try to drop those aspects of the board which attract the vulgar masses and add new features which would continue to cater to the bright people whose company you enjoy.

Perhaps add some news feeds to the main page. Customizable weather. Maybe even turn the whole board into a Board/Portal. Add some stuff that no one else has -- put the national debt clock in the corner. Rotate some random "facts" into the front page -- have them change with every refresh. For instance, it might read "Did you know that right now there are [x] number of employees at the IRS." or "The average worker works until May [20th] of each year just to pay his taxes."

I have a lot of ideas of what you might add to draw intelligent eyeballs, but I am heading to the Quarter with Crystal to go enjoy the beautiful weather right now.

Serge, why are you overcomplicating such a simple decision? If I had asked you this question, you would have give me this advice ...

Stop posting on the other boards, leave lens & brad to deal with a few thousand greedy moronic mouths to feed while we share gourmet food amongst only hundreds. The advertisers that want to continue to advertise here will send their money, those who don't ... won't.

There's a core of us that will stay, there's a few who will drop by less, and some who will never come back. If people stop advertising because you've stopped posting on gfy ... that would be a bit stupid on their part - especially seeing you share many of the same advertisers.

Why the gloom and doom feeling NOW? Not just serge, everyone! This thread is depressing! The hell part has passed, the culling is in full swing and this is where it gets exciting - new ideas are booming and a few companies are starting to shine as leaders. Its not scary NOW, because the unknown is now known ... YES, lots of people will go out of business. Unless its YOU, why feel anything but excited by the future? And if its that bad & boring, find something else to do!

And something many of you seem to be ignoring in this boo hoo thread ...

Almost every opranaut could individually create a formula or hire a couple of staff to do what 1000 gfy/justblows webmasters do. Who gives a fuck if there are 1000's of tgp's ... if I put the effort into a tgp or link list that I do to my primary business, paysites, it would shit on 90% of the crap out there - and most of us here could say the same and not just be sucking our own cocks.

The thing is, up until now we have fought against tgp's & free porn, tried to kill it - and its spread - why? because its what surfers want ... so, why let webmasters give it to them when we can do it ourselves? FREE was supposed to mean 'SAMPLE' ... and one day, it will again.

1 of these roles/groups is disposable, unnecessary, too expensive, and living on borrowed time ...
